YOGA

Our yoga program creates a means to find balance:  physically, mentally and emotionally.  We feature a studio with state-of-the-art non-absorbent flooring in a quiet, peaceful atmosphere.  Our instructors encourage students to develop their practice by working at their own level while continuously challenging their mind, body and spirit.  The postures are perfectly sequenced and are natural ways of holding the body.  Performed properly, yoga develops flexibility, strength, and concentration.  Yoga is for every one of all ages and all levels of health and ability.  Documentation indicates that practicing yoga can help alleviate chronic problems such as obesity, diabetes, arthritis and heart disease, to name a few.  We hope that the classes you take at our studio will help you transform your thoughts, actions and body from the inside out.  Yoga is the key to the kingdom of health.

 HOT YOGA   (TOP / NEXT)

This yoga practice is both challenging and rejuvenating for the body and mind.  Hot Yoga classes are 90 minutes in length and performed in a heated room to facilitate deeper stretching and to remove toxins from the body.  This class is a specific sequence of poses, each done twice with two breathing practices.  Each posture (asana) prepares the body for the one that follows.

Practicing yoga in a hot environment opens both the chakras and the muscular/skeletal system.  It stimulates the glandular system, and helps eliminate toxins to rebuild the body from old injuries. With continued Hot Yoga practice, what once seemed purely physical slowly transforms the practitioner towards a metaphysical state of being. Hot Yoga empowers each student to discover the teacher within.  From beginner to advanced students, all levels are welcome and will enjoy the full body workout and deep relaxation of the class.

POWER YOGA   (TOP / NEXT)

This is a challenging, hot class ideal for the first-timer as well as the continuing student who wishes to explore the poses and the breath more deeply.  You will move, sweat and breathe, as you never have before! The classes are always a little different, a creative and eclectic mix of traditional yoga poses linked together by the breath. You will build stability, strength and stamina as we introduce balance poses, inversions, and back bends. This exciting class will have you continuously moving your body and breath. We will constantly "grow a pose" from its roots, to its core and then turn it upside down to its branches. This class will have you balancing on your feet, your toes, your hands and head. We guarantee this is not your standard power yoga class......give it a try...leave your ego at the door and turn your world upside down!

VINYASA YOGA   (TOP / NEXT)

Vinyasa is a term used to describe the transitions from one posture (asana) to the next in a rhythmic flow with the breath.  The purpose of vinyasa is to create heat in the body, which increases circulation and detoxification through sweating and deep breathing.  It also improves flexibility, as well as tendon and hard tissue strength, allowing the student to practice advanced asanas with reduced risk of injury.

There are six series total, each sequence typically beginning with a series of Sun Salutations.  Vinyasa not only allows you to work within the poses, but also to maintain both a physical and mental flow when you perform your daily yoga.  Overall, the vinyasa’s are a part of yoga that may help you see and feel results more quickly and more consistently.

YOGA FIT   (TOP / NEXT)
